This Senior Python Software Engineer role sits in Optiver’s Infrastructure department, building the systems that model, provision, configure and monitor the firm’s global, low-latency infrastructure. You’ll design and implement internal tooling (primarily in Python), contribute to open source, and work across areas like observability, image-based deployment, declarative infra management and automated network/server provisioning—while spending about 80% of your time on development and the remainder on operational work and daytime on-call. We’re looking for someone with ~8+ years’ experience, strong automation instincts, solid Python and Linux/infra understanding, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset, to help evolve the bespoke platform that underpins Optiver’s trading systems.

Design and own cloud architectures for GenAI platforms, intelligent agents, and automation solutions on Azure. Translate business requirements into scalable technical blueprints, reference architectures, and implementation guidelines. Drive Azure best practices across identity, networking, security, monitoring, and API integrations. Contribute to smooth delivery by supporting CI/CD workflows, reviewing IaC implementation, and ensuring consistent deployment patterns.
