This Senior Python Software Engineer role sits in Optiver’s Infrastructure department, building the systems that model, provision, configure and monitor the firm’s global, low-latency infrastructure. You’ll design and implement internal tooling (primarily in Python), contribute to open source, and work across areas like observability, image-based deployment, declarative infra management and automated network/server provisioning—while spending about 80% of your time on development and the remainder on operational work and daytime on-call. We’re looking for someone with ~8+ years’ experience, strong automation instincts, solid Python and Linux/infra understanding, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset, to help evolve the bespoke platform that underpins Optiver’s trading systems.
This role is for an Infrastructure Software Engineer building the software and automation that manage Optiver’s global fleet of low-latency servers and network devices. You’ll work mostly in Python on provisioning, configuration management, observability, and declarative infrastructure tools, while collaborating with experts in Linux and networking.
